How to Brief a Deal Toy Supplier: The Checklist

Eight things to send a deal toy supplier so the first quotation is accurate and the design round is short.

Why the brief decides the price

A quotation is only as exact as the brief behind it. Missing quantity, an unclear size or an unknown delivery country each force a supplier to guess, and a guess is usually priced with a margin for safety. A complete brief gets a tighter quote and a faster first design.

The eight items

1. Deal type and parties, so the design can reflect the transaction. Share names only if you are cleared to disclose them.

2. Material: acrylic embedment, optical crystal, metal, or a combination.

3. Size: a height or footprint, or a desk-piece or wall-piece description.

4. Quantity. Piece cost falls with volume because set-up costs are shared.

5. Required date, counted back from the closing dinner or event.

6. Delivery destination, which sets freight, duties and transit time.

7. Artwork: logos in vector form where available, plus any text for each side.

8. Who approves the design, so the proof reaches the right person.

What you should receive back

A written quotation with unit prices, one-time tooling or set-up costs, delivery and lead time. At Crystal Century the piece is made in our own factory in China, so the quotation comes from the maker. You can send a competitor's written quotation on the same specification and we will beat it: see the lowest price guarantee on our home page.
