The material decides the weight, the engraving method and the freight, which is why we name it before anything else.
| Material | What it suits |
|---|---|
| Optical crystal | Award-grade clarity. Laser and sub-surface 3D engraving. The heaviest and most formal option. |
| Lucite | The classic deal toy. Cast around an embedded object, printed in full colour or engraved. Lighter to ship in quantity. |
| Acrylic glass | A lucite look at lower weight, for a large distribution list. |
| Metal and crystal | A metal element set into crystal, for a piece that has to survive a desk move. |
The same object has a different name in every bank. All of these reach us.
A financial tombstone is a permanent record of a completed transaction, cut in lucite or crystal and engraved with the parties, the value, the roles and the closing date. Banks and law firms give one to each side of a deal. It is also called a deal toy, a deal lucite or a deal tombstone.
Lucite is the traditional deal toy: it can be cast around an embedded object, it prints in full colour and it is lighter to ship in quantity. Optical crystal is heavier, clearer and more formal, and takes sub-surface 3D engraving. For a distribution list of twenty or more, lucite usually wins on freight alone.
The deal details and any logos: the parties, the transaction value, each party's role, the closing date, and a vector logo for each name that appears. We return a free rendering showing the exact layout before anything is cut.
One, or several hundred. A single commemorative piece for a signing is normal and so is a full distribution list for every adviser on a transaction.
Five to seven working days in production once the rendering is approved, plus shipping. A rush piece can be produced in five days and we quote the date with the price.
We do. Design, artwork and proofing happen in our Hong Kong office and production runs in our own factory in China, so a change to an engraving can be made during a run rather than renegotiated with an agent.
Tell us the parties, the value and the date, and we will send a rendering before anything is cut. No minimum order.
